Tien Ong cave is located on Cai Tai Islet, in the Hang Trai Island area, about 18 kilometers from Tuan Chau International Marina. The cave is also known by other names: Hang Rền (according to local folklore) and Hang Đục (as referred to by Swedish archaeologist Andersson).

To ensure the safety of people, vessels as well as property and to prevent and respond to the impacts of the tropical depression, the Inland Waterway Authority and the Inland Waterway Vessel Registration Office (Quang Ninh Department of Construction) have issued an official notice to all affiliated Inland Waterway Authorities regarding the suspension of permits for vessels to depart from ports and wharves.
