Suspension of permit issuance for vessels including tourist and accommodation watercraft

To ensure the safety of people, vessels as well as property and to prevent and respond to the impacts of the tropical depression, the Inland Waterway Authority and the Inland Waterway Vessel Registration Office (Quang Ninh Department of Construction) have issued an official notice to all affiliated Inland Waterway Authorities regarding the suspension of permits for vessels to depart from ports and wharves.

Accordingly, the issuance of permits for vessels, including tourist and accommodation watercraft, to depart from ports and wharves is temporarily suspended starting from 1:00 PM on August 18, 2025. Passenger vessels must complete disembarking passengers and return to mainland ports and wharves before 3:00 PM on August 18, 2025.
Ship owners and captains are required to proactively take measures to ensure the safety of people and vessels; they should also consider and actively carry out avoidance and sheltering procedures, completing these activities before 3:00 PM on August 18, 2025.
