Stepping Up Inspections to Ensure Quality Tourist Services on Ha Long Bay During Peak Season
To improve the quality of tourism services and ensure the highest level of safety for visitors during the summer tourism season, on June 10, 2026, Mr. Mai Vu Tuan, Head of the Ha Long Bay – Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board, conducted an on-site inspection of visitor reception and service operations at several key tourism destinations on Ha Long Bay.
The inspection focused on Ti Top Beach and the Soi Sim Beach area. Ti Top Beach is one of the most popular destinations on Ha Long Bay, attracting a large number of visitors each day, especially during the peak summer tourism season.
At Soi Sim Beach, the delegation assessed the current condition of infrastructure, landscape, environmental quality, and technical facilities in preparation for its future tourism development. The plan to bring Soi Sim Beach into operation is expected to create an additional attractive tourism product, while helping to reduce visitor pressure on Ti Top Beach and enhance the overall visitor experience at the Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage Site.

Following the field inspection, Mr. Mai Vu Tuan commended the proactive efforts of the Board’s affiliated units and departments in maintaining and upgrading facilities, strengthening guidance and lifeguard services, and ensuring environmental sanitation. He also instructed relevant units to continue reviewing and improving visitor service conditions, particularly during peak periods when visitor numbers increase significantly. Special attention should be given to the regular inspection of lifesaving equipment, weather warning systems, and emergency response plans for maritime incidents and other unforeseen situations at sea.

Mr. Mai Vu Tuan emphasized that improving the quality of tourism services is not only about ensuring visitor safety but also about proactively preparing the necessary conditions to expand visitor experiences across the bay and develop high-quality tourism products. In this regard, the proposed development of Soi Sim Beach should be carried out in accordance with the principle of balancing tourism development with the conservation of the Outstanding Universal Value (OUV) of the Ha Long Bay World Heritage Site. Such development must fully comply with requirements relating to environmental protection, landscape preservation, and tourism carrying capacity.

Regular field inspections at key tourism destinations reflect the proactive, responsible, and sustainability-oriented management approach of the Ha Long Bay – Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board. Beyond ensuring visitor safety and service quality in the short term, the Board is also progressively implementing long-term solutions to better distribute visitor flows and alleviate pressure on heavily visited attractions. These efforts provide an important foundation for Ha Long Bay to further strengthen its position as one of Vietnam’s and the world’s leading tourism destinations, attracting visitors through the harmonious integration of heritage conservation and sustainable tourism development.
