Ha Long Bay – Yen Tu World Heritage Management Department Ready to Share World Heritage Values through Miss World 2026
More than 130 contestants representing countries and territories across the globe will gather in Quang Ninh Province for the 73rd Miss World Festival. Beyond participating in an international cultural event, they will have the opportunity to experience the Outstanding Universal Value of Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, while helping introduce its exceptional natural and cultural heritage to audiences worldwide.
Supporting this journey is the coordinated preparation of the Ha Long Bay – Yen Tu World Heritage Management Management, working closely with provincial authorities and relevant partners to ensure that every communication and promotional activity is undertaken in harmony with the principles of heritage conservation and sustainable tourism.
According to the coordination plan for the 73rd Miss World Festival in Quang Ninh Province, the Ha Long Bay – Yen Tu World Heritage Management Management has been entrusted with organizing the official heritage visit to Ha Long Bay for the Miss World Organizing Committee and approximately 200 delegates and contestants on 12 August 2026. In addition to ensuring a safe and well-managed experience, the Board will provide interpretation of the site's heritage values, facilitate educational and cultural experiences, and coordinate authorized filming and photography activities in full compliance with Vietnamese regulations and the international commitments governing the protection of World Heritage properties.
Prior to the heritage visit, from 9 to 11 August, Quang Ninh Province will host welcoming activities for contestants representing 130 countries and territories. The opening ceremony, "Welcome Miss World to Quang Ninh – Viet Nam," will take place at Ha Long Marina Square, bringing together approximately 10,000 participants, including delegates, residents and visitors. The series of events is expected to generate extensive international media coverage across television, digital platforms and social media, contributing to greater global awareness of Quang Ninh Province and the World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay.

Beyond hosting international delegations, the Ha Long Bay – Yen Tu World Heritage Management Department has also been assigned to coordinate environmental protection measures, safeguard the site's landscapes, ensure maritime safety, and monitor conservation activities throughout the duration of the program on Ha Long Bay. These responsibilities reflect the Board's ongoing commitment to preserving the property's Outstanding Universal Value while facilitating responsible public engagement.
To prepare for this international event, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh Province has established an Organizing Committee together with specialized subcommittees. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism serves as the standing agency, working in close collaboration with the Miss World Organization in Viet Nam. Together, they coordinate program development, logistics, communications and hospitality to ensure that the event reflects both international standards and the province's commitment to sustainable heritage management.

As participants from around the world turn their attention to Ha Long Bay, the occasion represents more than an international cultural gathering. It offers a valuable opportunity to foster intercultural dialogue and deepen appreciation for one of humanity's shared natural treasures. Every image and story shared from the World Heritage property has the potential to inspire greater understanding of the importance of conserving nature and culture for present and future generations.
Through the careful preparation of the Ha Long Bay – Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board and its partners, the event will contribute to promoting a vision of tourism that respects heritage values, supports conservation, and advances sustainable development. This enduring commitment to balancing public appreciation with responsible stewardship remains at the heart of the Board's mission to protect and promote the World Heritage of Ha Long Bay for the benefit of all.
