Training Workshop on identifying relics and artifacts at archaeological sites in Ha Long Bay
On August 21st and 22nd, Ha Long Bay Management Department organized a professional training workshop on identifying relics and artifacts at archaeological sites within Ha Long Bay.

The training workshop was attended by 30 staff members directly involved in the field of cultural and historical management at Ha Long Bay Management Department.
The lecturers were from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), including: Professor Dr. Lâm Thị Mỹ Dung - Department of Archaeology; Dr. Nguyễn Văn Anh - Director of the Museum of History and Culture; Dr. Hoàng Văn Diệp - Department of Archaeology, Faculty of History.

The training program covered a range of topics, including: Cultural traces from the prehistoric period in the Ha Long Bay area; Archaeological sites and cultures, methods for field investigation, documentation, sketching, photographing, and interpreting archaeological sites; Identification of cultural layers, types of sites and artifacts at several archaeological locations in Ha Long Bay; Assessment of values and potential threats to the landscape, relics, and artifacts at some archaeological sites in Ha Long Bay.

The training workshop not only equipped participants with fundamental knowledge and skills for identifying relics and artifacts at archaeological sites in Ha Long Bay, but also helped enhance their capacity to advise on the sustainable conservation and promotion of these sites.
Following the theoretical sessions, participants will engage in a one-day field practice at several archaeological sites in Ha Long Bay, such as Tien Ong Cave, Trinh Nu Cave, and Me Cung Cave.
