Ha Long Jasmine - An endemic flower in the heart of the Heritage

Ha Long Bay is often likened to a vast and vivid ink-wash painting, with thousands of limestone islands rising from the emerald waters, and an incredibly rich and unique system of caves. This magnificent natural artwork becomes even more vibrant with the colors of numerous plant and flower species such as Bông mộc (Michelia), Sảng (Sterculia), Fragrant Bauhinia, Purple Melastoma, Begonia, Slipper Orchid, and Ha Long Jasmine (Nhài Hạ Long).

Ha Long Jasmine is an endemic plant species of the World Heritage Site. This plant typically grows in rocky crevices and is widely distributed along mountain slopes on islands such as Lờm Bò, Áng Bù Xám, Áng Dù, Hang Trai, and Trinh Nữ Cave. It bears white flowers with a gentle fragrance, embodying a pure and elegant beauty. The flowers usually bloom in abundance on mountain slopes from August to September, followed by fruiting in October to November.

Though small in size, the Ha Long Jasmine is remarkably resilient and enduring, thriving despite the harsh weather conditions and adding a delicate touch to the vibrant floral landscape of Ha Long Bay.

The plant also evokes the simple yet steadfast beauty of the coastal people who call this region home. If you want to witness the beauty of the Ha Long Jasmine in full bloom, don’t hesitate to book a tour to Ha Long Bay-flower season has already begun!
