The working Group of Inter-sectoral United Nations evaluated damage that caused by Typhoon YAGI to Ha Long Bay

Within the framework of the International Strategy for Natural Disaster Reduction of the United Nations General Assembly, on November 10th, 2024, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Vietnam coordinated with the UNESCO Office in Hanoi to organize an Inter-sectoral Assessment Team, including ICOMOS risk assessment and management experts, representatives of the Department of Cultural Heritage, and UNESCO Office in Hanoi, to carry out a program to assess and verify the level of impact and damage that caused by Typhoon Yagi to world heritage sites and nominated heritage sites in Quang Ninh province, including Ha Long Bay.
