Ha Long Bay Management Department welcomes and works with the delegation of Cao Bang Non Nuoc Geopark Management Board

On the afternoon of October 11th, in Ha Long City, Ha Long Bay Management Department welcomed and worked with the delegation of Cao Bang Non Nuoc Geopark Management Board that led by Mr. Vi Tran Thuy, Director of the Management Board. Mr. Nguyen Trung Hau, Deputy Director of Ha Long Bay Management Department together with representatives of some specialized divisions under the Department as well as representatives of some enterprises operating socio-economic activities on Ha Long Bay worked with the delegation.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of issues related to the experience in developing a plan to manage, protect and promote the title of World Natural Heritage; developing a project to collect entrance fees; Managing and protecting the  environmen of the Heritage; the role and responsibility of enterprises operating in the socio-economic area of ​​the Heritage area...

Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark was recognized by UNESCO as a Global Geopark in April 2018 due to its unique landscape, geological, geomorphological, biodiversity and cultural values ​​with an area of ​​over 3,683 km2.

Ha Long Bay with an area of ​​1,553 km2 was recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage for the first time in 1994 for its aesthetic value. In 2000, Ha Long Bay continued to be honored by UNESCO for its geological and geomorphological values.

The exchange and sharing of experiences between the two Management Boards not only aims to improve the management, protection and promotion of the value of UNESCO titles for sustainable development, but also strengthen and expand cooperation within the network of UNESCO title management agencies in Vietnam./.
