A Journey That Awakens Poetic Inspiration

As part of the 24th Vietnam Poetry Day in 2026, a major cultural event jointly organized by the Vietnam Writers’ Association and the People’s Committee of Quang Ninh Province, on the afternoon of March 3 a delegation from the Vietnam Writers’ Association embarked on an inspiring field trip for creative writing on Ha Long Bay.

Poets gather for a memorable moment in the heart of the heritage site.

In the springtime, Ha Long Bay reveals a serene and contemplative beauty shaped by mountains, limestone formations and open skies. Free from the veils of mist, layers of towering limestone karsts rise in powerful formations, showcasing the exquisite artistry of nature forged over hundreds of millions of years.

As the boat moves closer, the majestic islands stand tall, their silhouettes reflected on emerald waters. With such boundless vistas, artists are able to take in the full grandeur of the heritage landscape, a powerful source of inspiration that awakens creative emotions before the vastness of the sea.

Delegates take photos to mark a memorable moment amid the majestic scenery of Ha Long Bay.

Sharing his feelings about the trip, poet Cam Son from the Vietnam Writers’ Association said: “I have visited Ha Long Bay many times. Each return, with new journeys and different companions, always brings me fresh emotions. Ha Long is changing and developing every day. I am very pleased during today’s trip to see that Ha Long is cleaner and more beautiful, and the sea looks stunning under the clear blue sky.”

A moment of poetic spontaneity

The field trip for creative writing is a journey that awakens emotions, where each poet distills the purest vibrations of inspiration, carrying with them the breath of the sea before attending the Nguyen Tieu Poetry Night, scheduled to take place later the same evening at the Quang Ninh Planning, Fair and Exhibition Palace.

Under the theme “Before the Vast Sea,” and featuring a variety of interwoven artistic performances, the Nguyen Tieu Poetry Night promises to be a vibrant and multi-colored program, helping spread the love of poetry and the values of spiritual and cultural life to a wide audience.
