Ha Long Bay Management Department meets with delegation from Osaka Metropolitan University, Japan

 

On September 12, the Ha Long Bay Management Department held a working session with a delegation from Osaka Metropolitan University, Japan, to discuss environmental protection efforts for Ha Long Bay. Welcoming and working with the delegation on behalf of the Ha Long Bay Management Department was Mr. Phạm Đình Huỳnh, Deputy Director of the Department, along with representatives from several affiliated units. Representing Osaka Metropolitan University was Professor Koji Otsuka, Head of the Delegation, and accompanying members. At the meeting, Mr. Phạm Đình Huỳnh highly appreciated the cooperation of Osaka Metropolitan University in environmental protection efforts for Ha Long Bay over recent years. He also expressed hope that the university will continue to implement initiatives in the near future, such as water quality monitoring and the development of educational comic books aimed at raising community awareness-especially among young people-about environmental protection. Additionally, he encouraged further support in introducing technologies for waste management, monitoring, and collection in Ha Long Bay.

  Prior to the meeting, the delegation from Osaka Metropolitan University, Japan, conducted fieldwork to monitor water quality at several locations in Ha Long Bay and delivered an educational presentation on environmental protection at Ha Long Primary School in Hong Gai

Recognizing the importance of the environment in preserving the integrity of the natural values of the Ha Long Bay, and considering environmental protection as a top priority, the Ha Long Bay Management Department has consistently maintained and strengthened its cooperation with Osaka Metropolitan University, Japan, in carrying out environmental protection activities in Ha Long Bay.
