Temporary suspension of passenger vessel permit to prevent and respond to typhoon WIPHA
The Inland Waterways Port Authority and the Inland Waterway Vessel Registry and Inspection Department have issued Document No. 750/CV&ĐKT-ATQLKCHT dated July 19th, 2025, regarding the temporary suspension of passenger vessel permits as a preventive and responsive measure against typhoon WIPHA.

Accordingly, passenger transport vessels operating in Ha Long Bay and those transporting passengers to and between islands within the province will be temporarily suspended from being granted departure permits from ports and wharves starting from July 20, 2025. (Vessels returning to the mainland to disembark passengers will still be granted permits.)
To ensure the safety of people and vessels, the Inland Waterways Port Authority and the Inland Waterway Vessel Registry and Inspection Department request that all subordinate representatives continue to closely monitor weather developments, and promptly inform port and wharf owners, vessel owners, and captains so that they can take proactive safety measures and not be negligent or subjective in light of the storm’s impact.
