Coordinating waste collection and release of fish and shrimp fingerlings in Ha Long Bay
On June 7, at the Ang Du area in Ha Long Bay, the Youth Unions of two units-Ha Long Bay Management Department and the Department of Agriculture and Environment-organized a waste collection and fish fingerling release event in Ha Long Bay.
The waste mainly consisted of bamboo, raft fragments, styrofoam buoys, plastic bottles, ropes, and other debris washed ashore by the waves. Over 20 cubic meters of various types of waste were collected, loaded onto boats, and transported to shore for proper disposal.
Before the waste collection activity, more than 20 youth union members released 100,000 black tiger shrimp fingerlings and 2,000 rabbitfish fingerlings into Ha Long Bay to help replenish aquatic resources.
Despite the scorching early June heat, the youth members worked diligently to complete the task as quickly as possible.
This activity not only highlights the spirit of volunteerism and youth engagement in protecting Ha Long Bay, but also responds to the Month of Action for the Environment, the Vietnam Sea and Island Week, and World Oceans Day 2025.
