Patrols and enforcement against improperly moored watercraft along the shoreline of Ha Long Bay

In an effort to address improperly moored watercraft along the shoreline of Ha Long Bay, and to maintain waterway traffic order and environmental sanitation in Ha Long City, relevant authorities-including the Ha Long City People's Committee, the Provincial Police Department’s Traffic Police Division, the Ha Long Bay Management Department, and the People's Committees of Hong Ha, Hong Hai, Hong Gai, and Bach Dang wards-have recently coordinated patrols to identify and handle violations.

The patrols targeted vessels improperly anchored along the coastal route of Tran Quoc Nghien street in Ha Long City.

Authorities inspect vessels that moored near Tran Quoc Nghien coastal road

From May 7 to May 14, 2025, authorities handled 10 cases of vessels mooring in unauthorized locations.

During this period, vessels moored or tied to bridge structures, railings, embankments, and similar infrastructure were also subject to enforcement. In addition, unauthorized access points-such as makeshift walkways or illegal boarding/disembarking paths between boats and the shore-were removed.

Violating vessels temporarily impounded pending official resolution

The violating vessels have been temporarily impounded and are awaiting resolution by the relevant authorities in accordance with regulations.

In addition to deploying personnel upon request, enforcement forces are also maintaining regular patrols to ensure waterway traffic order and environmental cleanliness in coastal waters under the jurisdiction of each ward.

Addressing the issue of unauthorized mooring of watercraft along the shores of Ha Long Bay not only ensures maritime traffic safety but also contributes to maintaining environmental sanitation and the aesthetic appearance of the urban coastline-especially as the peak summer tourism season of 2025 approaches.
