Youth Union of Ha Long Bay Management Department: Meaningful activities during Youth month

"In March of each year is Youth month - an annual event held to promote the proactive, volunteer, and creative spirit of young people as they engage in activities for the benefit of the community and society, and to encourage organizations and individuals to invest in youth development."

Youth month has truly become a vast space, a practical learning environment, and a healthy social setting where young people can ignite their passion, enthusiasm, and spirit of dedication-undaunted by hardship-demonstrating their readiness to step forward wherever they are needed, living up to the spirit of “Wherever there is need, there are young people.”

During Youth month 2025, the Youth Union of Ha Long Bay Management Department made a strong impression with a series of impactful activities, including contributing to the protection of Ha Long Bay-World Natural Heritage Site; organizing sports and fitness events to promote good health; planting flowers and trees, etc….

These meaningful activities not only reflect the youth’s sense of responsibility and sharing with the community but also become bright, lasting memories of the young people working in the preservation and promotion of the values of Ha Long Bay.

Youth Members in Blue Shirts join hands to preserve the blue of the sea

Upholding the proactive and pioneering spirit of youth, the Youth Union of Ha Long Bay Management Department, in collaboration with the Sub-Division of Pilot Branch No. 3, the Youth Union of Northern Maritime Pilots Company, and Youth Cluster No. 2 of Ha Long City Youth Union, organized waste collection activities at several locations in Ha Long Bay, including Soi Sim, Me Cung, Ti Top, and the Cap Tao islet area.

With the spirit of “Wherever there is need, there are young people; wherever it's difficult, there are young people,” the union members worked together to collect over 50 cubic meters of waste, contributing significantly to the protection of the World Heritage environment.

Against the backdrop of the Bay's blue waters, the blue shirts of the Youth Union members stood out-symbolizing both their presence and purpose. That iconic blue becomes even more meaningful when the blue of the sea is free from waste.

Sports Exchange - A highlight activity involves Youth Union members

As part of the vibrant Youth month, one especially meaningful activity was the organization of a friendly sports exchange, featuring events such as pickleball, tug of war, and relay races. These activities drew enthusiastic participation from many Youth union members across the three affiliated sub-unions.

The event not only encouraged young members to embrace a healthy, active lifestyle but also helped improve their physical well-being. In doing so, it supported their ability to effectively fulfill their roles in preserving and promoting the values of Ha Long Bay.

A refreshing green surrounds the Office campus

In response to Ha Long City's initiative “Ha Long - The City of Flowers” and the implementation of Plan No. 28/KH-BQLVHL for 2025, the Youth Union of Ha Long Bay Management Department actively participated in tree planting activities on Ha Long Bay and around the agency’s headquarters. More than 150 trees, flowers, and ornamental plants were planted, creating a vibrant and youthful work environment, where blooming flowers bask in the morning sunlight and breathe new life into the surroundings.

With a strong spirit of action, the Youth Union’s activities during Youth month not only responded to the 2025 Youth Month campaign and celebrated the 94th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2025), but also marked an enthusiastic welcome to the 6th Party Congress of the Ha Long Bay Management Department for the 2025-2030 term. More importantly, these efforts highlighted the pioneering and voluntary role of the young “Heritage Generation,” contributing meaningfully to the preservation and promotion of the values of Ha Long Bay - a World Natural Heritage Site.
