Handling illegal Fishing Vessels in Ha Long Bay
On December 21 and 22, Ha Long Bay Management Department coordinated with the inter-sectoral task force of Ha Long City (collectively referred to as the Inter-sectoral Task Force) to detect and handle several vessels engaging in illegal fishing and seafood exploitation within the core area of Ha Long Bay.

On December 21, during a patrol and inspection, the Inter-sectoral Task Force discovered and handled two vessels engaged in illegal fishing in the core area of the Ha Long Bay World Heritage site. The violating vessels included: fishing vessel QN-3346, operated by Mr. Vu Van Luong, born in 1998, and fishing vessel QN-3068, operated by Mr. Bui Viet Hoa, born in 1974. Both vessel owners reside in Quang Yen Township. At the time of the seizure, the two fishing vessels were found to be using trawl nets to illegally exploit seafood in the core area of the Heritage site.

Continuing with their patrol and inspection efforts, on December 22, the task force discovered a wooden-hull fishing vessel, registration number QN-41338-TS, engaged in illegal activity by storing a set of trawl nets for fishing. Upon inspection, the vessel was found to be operated by Mr. Duong Van Tuyen, born in 1988, residing in Co To.
The authorities then brought the vessels ashore, completed the necessary paperwork, and initiated procedures to handle the vessel owners according to legal regulations.
