Program to Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Ha Long Bay Being Recognized as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Ha Long Bay being designated as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, on December 14, 2024, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh Province will organize a commemorative program at the Vietnam-Japan Labor Cultural House in Ha Long City. The event will mark the recognition of Ha Long Bay as a World Natural Heritage site (December 17, 1994 - December 17, 2024).
The program will be broadcast live on Quang Ninh Television (QTV1), with a relay broadcast on the television stations of several localities and live coverage on the Voice of Vietnam (VOV).
It is expected that around 700 people will attend the event, including many central government representatives, international delegates, provincial officials, businesses, media agencies, and the public.
The program aims to summarize and assess the 30-year journey of Ha Long Bay being recognized as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site by the Party Committee, government, and people of Quang Ninh Province. It will highlight the efforts in managing, preserving, and promoting the values of Ha Long Bay as a World Natural Heritage site, while drawing lessons learned and setting long-term directions and solutions for the sustainable protection and development of this natural heritage. This will contribute to the goal of developing Quang Ninh Province into an international tourism center, connected with major tourism hubs in the region and the world.
This event also marks a key highlight in the series of activities celebrating the 30th anniversary of Ha Long Bay being inscribed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.
