Trinh Nu Cave

The cave is located in the Northeast of Bo Hon island, about 16 km from Tuan Chau International Marina and 13,5 km from Ha Long International Passenger Port. This is a typical ancient karst ground cave and one of archeological relics of Ha Long culture, dating back 4500 years ago. Currently, to the left of the entrance is a thin sediment layer of about 4m2 beneath a huge rock, including broken shells of cockle, freshwater snails and pieces of pottery mixed with shells of cockles. In front of the entrance, right at the edge of the sea there are many broken pieces of porcelain, which are evidences of an ancient harbor dating back to the 14th – 16th century.
The name of the cave is attached to the touching love story of a couple in a fishing village. To keep filial piety and faithful love, the girl petrified. Visiting the cave, tourists will see right at the entrance a horizontal stalagmite, looking like the image of a girl lying with her hair down and reaching her hand out to the sea.
